Refundable Cargo Insurance Policy
Protecting Your Shipment. Protecting Your Investment.
At Transatlantic Cargo, we understand that every shipment represents an important investment. Our Cargo Insurance Policy is designed to provide financial protection against eligible loss or damage that may occur during the transportation of goods, subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions, and coverage limits of the applicable policy.
We work with qualified insurance providers and logistics partners to help our customers obtain appropriate coverage for their cargo throughout its journey by sea, air, and inland transportation.
What Our Cargo Insurance Covers
Depending on the coverage selected and the terms of the applicable insurance policy, protection may include:
Accidental physical loss or damage to insured cargo.
Damage occurring during loading and unloading.
Loss or damage during ocean transportation.
Loss or damage during air freight transportation.
Loss or damage during inland transportation.
Certain risks arising from handling, storage, or transshipment.
Other covered risks specifically stated in the insurance certificate or policy.
Coverage is subject to the individual policy terms, conditions, deductibles, exclusions, and applicable limits.
Refundable Insurance Premiums
Where a shipment is cancelled, withdrawn, or the insurance coverage is no longer required before the commencement of the insured transit, the insurance premium may be eligible for a refund, subject to the applicable insurer’s terms and conditions.
Refund eligibility may depend on:
Whether the insurance coverage has already commenced.
Whether a claim has been submitted or paid.
Whether the insurer has incurred any non-refundable costs.
The cancellation terms stated in the insurance certificate or policy.
Applicable laws and regulations.
Where a refund is approved, it will be processed through the original payment method or another mutually agreed method, subject to the insurer’s processing requirements.
Important: An insurance premium is not automatically refundable in every circumstance. Once coverage has commenced or a covered loss has occurred, the premium may be non-refundable or only partially refundable in accordance with the applicable policy.
Claims Procedure
In the event of loss or damage, customers should notify Transatlantic Cargo and/or the relevant insurer as soon as reasonably possible.
To support a claim, customers may be required to provide:
Commercial invoice.
Packing list.
Bill of Lading, Air Waybill, or relevant transport document.
Proof of insurance.
Delivery documentation.
Photographs or other evidence of damage.
Survey or inspection report, where required.
Any additional documents requested by the insurer.
Claims are assessed and settled by the applicable insurance provider in accordance with the terms of the insurance policy.
Exclusions
Cargo insurance does not necessarily cover every type of loss. Depending on the policy, exclusions may include losses arising from inadequate packaging, inherent defects, ordinary wear and tear, delay, improper documentation, intentional acts, prohibited goods, or other risks specifically excluded by the insurer.
Customers should carefully review their insurance certificate and policy wording before shipment.
Our Commitment
At Transatlantic Cargo, our goal is to provide our customers with greater confidence when moving goods across international markets. We are committed to transparent communication, responsible cargo handling, and helping customers understand the protection available for their shipments.
For specific coverage, premium, refund eligibility, exclusions, and claim conditions, please refer to the insurance certificate and policy terms issued for your shipment.
